Our mission
After 12 years as the gallery owner of the Joseph Watson Collection, I am finally ready
to enter the next chapter in the art world. Last Sunday August 31st, during our final exhibit in suite 115, we closed the doors. New opportunities and interests have arrived in this new era. Many of you know that my wife and I launched the gallery, tucked in a corner of the Arts Factory building, around 2008. We had no clue what we were getting into and had no idea how rewarding it would become and what it would become, one of the longest lasting creative anchors of the Las Vegas Arts District.
Over the years, we have hosted over 140 First Friday exhibits, held numerous successful fundraisers and showcased art to tens of thousands of gallery patrons who have entered our doors. I am so grateful for the countless lifelong friends which my wife and I have gained throughout the years. I am thankful to my fans and collectors. We appreciate each and every one of you. Special thanks to my wife Tamara for being there through the thick and thin and for her support, sacrifice and smiles! Thanks to Brian Martinez who elevated his skill as a painter to become a rising star. We are proud to have been a part of developing his pursuit in art and will expect greatness from him. Thanks to Karen Jaikowski and Carey for being part of the gallery for so many years. Also thanks to Ruben Martinez, you rock. Thanks to Wes Miles for bringing me onboard to the Arts Factory family as a gallery owner. Thanks to the Arts Factory. Thanks to Iceberg Slick for introducing me to the art scene in Las Vegas and giving me my first series of shows. JenniferMain for giving me my first chance to have gallery studio space. Last but not least, all of
the folks who have inspired my art, listened to my advice to become successful and to those
who collected my art. We have witnessed many eras of the Arts Factory and Las Vegas Arts District. This era seems very exciting. Being a gallery owner / curator /artist allowed me to be a part of projects that I would of never dreamed possible. These were television appearances, radio, magazine and podcast interviews, major charity events such as the St. Judes heart sculpture project and March of Dimes. There are other new announcements coming soon!!! Also, we were fortunate to showcase artists such as Shark Toof, Dave Dave, Christina Paulos, Spencer Davis, Beso Kazaishvili, amongst many talented others. During my time at the Arts Factory I had the pleasure of seeing my painting on billboards, being collected by Cirque Du Soleil, commissioned by Zappos and the City of Las Vegas. One of the most valuable experiences was becoming the Illustrator on the Go, Go, Greta children's book series where we inspired so many kids out there. Thanks to Dana Satterwhite for the opportunity. Just last night my son cried when he found out that our gallery closed it's doors. I told him, don't worry because we will build another great place possibly better, this time you will help daddy in the process. So, for all of you who have come through our doors and even those of you who have collected art from the Joseph Watson Collection, we would love to hear your experience of your visit. Please feel free to share this post as we are interested to hear all of your gallery visit stories at our spot. We are welcoming new partnerships, colabs, commissions, collectors, interviews and exhibit opportunities. For now, you can collect my art online on my website (link in bio), and also at the Priscilla Fowler Fine Art Gallery. Thank you for letting me tell my stories behind my paintings. They will forever live on, as well as new ones emerging.
Signing out for now and salute. -JOEE 2020
It all started when...
Back in 2009, Joseph and Tamara Watson decided to acquire physical gallery space in the world famous Arts Factory, located in Las Vegas, NV. The mission was to own a welcoming place where we can share art with collectors and the rest of the world. Over the past 11 years, our mission has been successful in having 100+ art events, mentoring the next generation of young artists and also captivating our audience with the works that we display and create.
